Diese Europäische Norm legt zwei Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Korngrößenverteilung von trockenen Mörtelmischungen oder Frischmörteln fest. Das Verfahren zur Nass-Siebung gilt für Mörtel, die Normalzuschläge enthalten und das Verfahren zur Trockensiebung für Mörtel, die Leichtzuschläge enthalten. Nicht behandelt ist die Korngrößenverteilung von gesondert vorliegenden Zuschlägen; diese wird nach dem in der Europäischen Norm EN 933 beschriebenen Prüfverfahren bestimmt. Mörtelmischungen, die Fasern enthalten, die vor dem Sieben nicht entfernt werden können, sind ebenfalls nicht behandelt.
