ÖNORM EN 10218-2 legt die Grenzabmaße fest für den Durchmesser von rundem Draht und, soweit zutreffend, für die Länge von zu Stäben geschnittenem runden Draht, und zwar für blanken Stahldraht (d. h. ohne Überzug), für Stahldraht mit metallischem Überzug und für Stahldraht mit nichtmetallischem Überzug. Diese Norm sollte nicht angewendet werden, wenn in einer besonderen Erzeugnisnorm andere Anforderungen für Maße und Grenzabmaße festgelegt sind.
