Diese Norm legt den Stahl und die Zusammensetzung des metallischen Überzugs fest, der für die Herstellung von elektrolytisch spezialverchromtem Stahl und Gegenständen verwendet wird, welche als fertiges Produkt für die Verwendung in direkter Berührung mit Lebensmitteln oder Produkten für den menschlichen und tierischen Verzehr bestimmt sind. Hauptbeispiele für die Anwendung sind: Getränkedosen; Konserven; Verschlüsse und Enden. Die Stahlsorte muss in Übereinstimmung mit ihrer Verwendung ausgesucht werden.
