Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an und Prüfverfahren für Schutzkleidung fest, die von einer unabhängigen Luftzufuhr aus einer nicht kontaminierten Quelle belüftet wird und den Körper sowie das Atemwegssystem des Trägers gegen feste Partikel einschließlich radioaktiver Kontamination schützt. Diese Art der Schutzkleidung kann mit einer Notatemluftversorgung ausgestattet sein. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht zum Schutz gegen ionisierende Strahlen und nicht zum Schutz von Patienten gegen Kontamination durch radioaktive Substanzen bei diagnostischen und/oder therapeutischen Maßnahmen. Wenn zusätzlicher Schutz gegen Chemikalien erforderlich ist, sollte auf die maßgebliche Norm und/oder auf CEN/TR 15419 verwiesen werden.
