Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen und ein Prüfverfahren für die Beständigkeit gegen Sonnenbestrahlung für Beschichtungen auf Glas für die Anwendung im Bauwesen fest. Diese Prüfung hilft bei der Beurteilung, ob über einen ausgedehnten Zeitraum die Belastung durch Sonnenbestrahlung zu beträchtlichen Veränderungen des Licht- und Sonnenenergietransmissionsgrades des beschichteten Glases und bei Beschichtungen mit geringem Emissionsvermögen zu einer Verringerung des Infrarotreflexionsgrades führt. Diese Europäische Norm ist, wie in EN 1096-1 festgelegt, auf Beschichtungen der Klassen C und D anwendbar.
