Die vorliegende Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an Düsen fest, die ein Löschmittel in einen CO2-Schutzbereich ausbringen, und beschreibt zugehörige Prüfverfahren. Die Auslegung der Düsen beeinflußt die Ausströmrate und damit den Druckabfall im Rohrleitungsnetz. Das Löschmittel erreicht die Düse normalerweise in einer Zwei-Phasen-Strömung. Abhängig vom Düsentyp expandiert es im Schutzbereich zu einem Gas oder Gas-Trockeneis-Gemisch. Die vorliegende Norm darf nur als Richtlinie für jene Düsen angewendet werden, die nach abweichenden Prinzipien arbeiten.
