Diese Europäische Norm beschreibt detailliert die allgemeine Terminologie für Innenjalousien, Außenjalousien und Rollläden, wie sie normalerweise verwendet und an Gebäuden angebracht werden. Innenjalousien, Außenjalousien und Rollläden werden von den Produktnormen EN 13120, EN 13561 bzw. EN 13659 abgedeckt. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Tore, wie z. B. Rolltore und Rollgitter, die in Räumlichkeiten für den Einzelhandel eingesetzt werden und die weniger für den Zugang von Fahrzeugen oder Gütern als für den Zutritt von Personen bestimmt sind, wie in EN 13241 beschrieben. Die Bilder in dieser Norm dienen nur dem Zweck der Terminologie und sollten nicht als Empfehlungen hinsichtlich der Ausführung, der Konstruktion usw. angesehen werden.
