Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an Gestaltung, Werkstoffe, Konstruktion, Einbau und Prüfungen für fest eingebaute Kraftstoffsysteme für Hubkolben-Verbrennungsmotoren fest. Es findet Anwendung auf alle fest eingebauten Kraftstoffsysteme für Dieselkraftstoff und Ottokraftstoff, und zwar von der Kraftstofffüllöffnung bis zu der Verbindungsstelle mit dem Antriebs- oder Hilfsmotor für durch Einbau und Außenbordmotoren angetriebene kleine Wasserfahrzeuge. Die Anforderungen an die Konstruktion und die Prüfung von fest eingebauten Ottokraftstoff- und Dieselkraftstofftanks für Verbrennungsmotoren auf kleinen Wasserfahrzeugen sind in ISO 21487:2022 festgelegt.
