Diese Internationale Norm beschreibt Verfahren für die Vorbereitung von Prüfproben, welche für die Bestimmung des vollständigen aeroben und anaeroben Bioabbaus von Kunststoffmaterialien in wässrigem Medium, im Boden, kontrolliertem Kompost oder anaerobem Faulschlamm verwendet werden. Die beschriebenen Verfahren sind so konzipiert, dass die Maßhaltigkeit der Prüfproben und somit eine bessere Reproduzierbarkeit der Prüfergebnisse bei der Bestimmung der vollständigen biologischen Abbaubarkeit des Produktes gewährleistet ist. Bei diesen Verfahren werden die folgenden Materialien verwendet: - natürliche und/oder synthetische Polymere, Copolymere oder eine Mischung derselben; - Kunststoffmaterialien mit Zusätzen wie z. B. Weichmacher oder Farbstoffe; - Kunststoff-Verbundwerkstoffe mit organischen oder anorganischen Füllstoffen; - Produkte, die aus oben genannten Werkstoffen hergestellt sind.
