Er enthält generell nur die Kurz-zeichen, die allgemein gebräuchlich sind. Der Zweck dieses Teils der ISO 1043 ist es, dem Auftreten von mehr als einem Kurzzeichen für einen bestimmten Weichmacher vorzubeugen.
