Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an die wiederkehrende Prüfung von geschweißten Gasflaschen aus Aluminiumlegierungen, Kohlenstoffstahl und Edelstahl mit einem Fassungsraum von 0,5 l bis 150 l für die Versorgung mit druckbeaufschlagtem Gas und Flüssiggas zur Prüfung der Eignung dieser Gasflaschen für den weiteren Betrieb fest. Es gilt darüber hinaus, soweit praktikabel, für Flaschen mit einem Fassungsraum von weniger als 0,5 l und mehr als 150 l bis 450 l. Das Dokument gilt nicht für die wiederkehrende Prüfung von Acetylenflaschen oder Verbundflaschen (vollständig umwickelt oder mit Gürtelummantelung). Es ist hauptsächlich für Flaschen mit Industriegasen außer Flüssiggasen (LPG) vorgesehen. Das Dokument darf darüber hinaus auch für LPG angewendet werden. Anforderungen an LPG-Anwendungen sind auch in ISO 10464 festgelegt.
