Dieser Teil der Norm beschreibt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Widerstandsfähigkeit der Farbe von Textilien jeder Art und in allen Verarbeitungszuständen gegen die Einwirkung von Säuren, wie sie bei schweren Bedingungen des sauren Walkens angewendet werden. Folgendes Prinzip wird dabei angewendet: Eine Probe des Textilmaterials wird zusammen mit Begleitgeweben in verdünnten Lösungen von Essigsäure und/oder Schwefelsäure gewalkt, gespült und getrocknet. Die Änderung der Farbe der Probe und das Anbluten der Begleitgewebe werden durch Vergleich mit den Graumaßstäben bewertet.
