Diese ÖNORM beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der vollständigen biologischen Abbaubarkeit einer organischen Substanz bei einer vorgegebenen Konzentration in einem wäßrigen Medium durch aerobe Mikroorganismen. Die in dieser ÖNORM beschriebenen Bedingungen entsprechen nicht immer den optimalen Bedingungen, um einen maximalen biologischen Abbaugrad zu erreichen. Das Verfahren ist auf Substanzen anwendbar, die ausreichend wasserlöslich sind, um eine Stammlösung herstellen zu können, oder die im Falle schlechter Wasserlöslichkeit mit speziellen Techniken dosiert werden.
