Dieser Teil der ISO 10893 legt die Anforderungen an die automatisierte Ultraschall-Wanddickenprüfung nahtloser und geschweißter Stahlrohre - mit Ausnahme unterpulvergeschweißter (SAW-) Rohre - über den gesamten Rohrumfang fest. Das Dokument enthält Festlegungen zum Prüfverfahren und zu den damit verbundenen Einstellungen. Dieses Dokument kann auch für die Prüfung von kreisförmigen Hohlprofilen angewendet werden. Dieser Teil der ISO 10893 gilt für die Dickenmessung an Rohren mit einem Nenn-Außendurchmesser ab 25,4 mm und einer Mindestwanddicke von 2,6 mm, soweit nichts anderes festgelegt wurde.
