Dieser Teil von ISO 11126 legt Anforderungen für Strahlmittel aus Staurolith fest, wie sie für Strahlverfahren geliefert werden. Er legt Bereiche für die Korngröße und Grenzwerte für scheinbare Dichte, Härte nach Mohs, Feuchtegehalt, Leitfähigkeit des wässrigen Eluates (wasserlösliche Verunreinigungen) und wasserlösliche Chloride fest. Die in diesem Teil von ISO 11126 festgelegten Anforderungen gelten nur für im "Neuzustand" gelieferte, unbenutzte Strahlmittel. Sie gelten nicht für Strahlmittel während oder nach der Verwendung. Prüfverfahren für nichtmetallische Strahlmittel sind in den verschiedenen Teilen von ISO 11127 enthalten.
