Der vorliegende Teil von ISO 11148 gilt für handgehaltene, nicht elektrisch betriebene Maschinen (im Folgenden als "Bohrmaschinen und Gewindeschneider" bezeichnet), die für Drehbohren von Löchern in allen Arten von Werkstoffen, z. B. Holz, Metall, Beton, Kunststoffe usw. oder für das Schneiden und Säubern von Gewinden aus Metall und Kunststoff gedacht sind. Die Bohrmaschinen und Gewindeschneider können von Druckluft, Hydraulikflüssigkeit oder einem Verbrennungsmotor angetrieben werden und sind zum Gebrauch durch einen einzelnen Bediener vorgesehen und werden vom Bediener in seiner Hand oder seinen Händen gehalten, mit oder ohne eine Aufhängung, z. B. eine Ausgleichseinrichtung. Der vorliegende Teil von ISO 11148 ist anwendbar auf: - Bohrmaschinen; - Hochleistungsbohrmaschinen mit zwei Handgriffen; - Gewindeschneider.
