Diese ÖNORM legt die Anforderungen und Verfahren für die Ermüdungsprüfung, die Prüfung der statischen Beanspruchbarkeit und Kippsicherheit für Gehwagen ohne zusätzliche Ausstattung fest, sofern es nicht in speziellen Prüfverfahren anders festgelegt ist. Dieser Teil der ÖNORM enthält ebenfalls Anforderungen für Sicherheit, Ergonomie, Leistungsfähigkeit, Kennzeichnung, Aufschriften und vom Hersteller zu liefernde Informationen. Dieser Teil der ÖNORM schließt sämtliche Gehwagen ein, die mit drei oder mehr Rädern oder Stockpuffern gegen die Gehfläche und Armstützen in der Form einer horizontalen Stützauflage oder zwei horizontaler Unterarmauflagen ausgestattet sind. Die Anforderungen und Prüfungen beruhen auf dem alltäglichen Gebrauch von Gehwagen als Gehhilfen, die für Personen mit einer Körpermasse von mindestens 35 kg vorgesehen sind.
