ÖNORM EN ISO 1179-3 legt Maße, Leistungsanforderungen und Prüfverfahren für nicht richtungseinstellbare und richtungseinstellbare Einschraubzapfen mit Gewinde nach ISO 228-1 mit O-Ring-Dichtung mit Stützring (Form G bzw. H), leichte Reihe (L-Reihe) fest. Einschraubzapfen der leichten Reihe (L-Reihe), die diesem Teil von ISO 1179 entsprechen, können bei Arbeitsdrücken bis 31,5 MPa (315 bar) eingesetzt werden, wenn sie nicht richtungseinstellbar sind (Form G) und bei Arbeitsdrücken bis 20 MPa (200 bar), wenn sie richtungseinstellbar sind (Form H). Der zulässige Arbeitsdruck ist von Größe, Werkstoffen, Konstruktion, Betriebsbedingungen, Anwendung usw. abhängig. Übereinstimmung mit den Maßangaben in dieser Norm garantiert keine Nennleistung. Jeder Hersteller muss Prüfungen entsprechend den Festlegungen dieser Norm durchführen, um sicherzustellen, dass die nach dieser Norm hergestellten Bauteile mit den Nennleistungenübereinstimmen.
