Für diese direkte Bewertung der Korrosivität können Methoden mit unterschiedlicher Empfindlichkeit angewendet werden, bei denen metallene Standardproben aus Kupfer, Silber, Zink, Stahl und Blei verwendet werden. Die bei den Messungen bestimmten Werte werden als Einteilungskriterien zur Bestimmung der atmosphärischen Korrosivität in Innenräumen angewendet.
