Tato norma platí pro nové elektrárny a rekonstrukce stávajících, jejichž projektová příprava byla zahájena po vydání účinnosti této témy. U elektráren, jejichž výstavba byla zahájena, nebo jejichž projektová dokumentace byla schválena před vydáním této normy, lze postupovat podle ČSN 38 1120:64.
