V tejto európskej norme sa určuje metóda na charakterizovanie vplyvu prvkov stavebného kovania na požiarnu odolnosť zostáv, v ktorých sú zabudované; tieto prvky sú určené na použitie v zvislo inštalovaných otočných zostavách dverí (jednokrídlových alebo dvojkrídlových) so závesmi alebo čapmi alebo v zvislo inštalovaných zostavách otváracích okien so známou požiarnou odolnosťou, s celistvosťou do 240 minút, vrátane, (a kde je to relevantné aj izoláciou) podľa EN 1634-1.
