Táto európska norma predpisuje požiadavky a skúšky elektroinštalačných úložných kanálov (CTS) a elektroinštalačných uzavretých žľabov (CDS) určených na ukladanie a tam, kde je to potrebné na elektricky ochranné oddelenie izolovaných vodičov, káblov a prípadne aj ďalších zariadení v inštaláciách elektrických a/alebo komunikačných systémov.Maximálne napätie týchto inštalácií je 1 000 V striedavého napätia a 1 500 V jednosmerného napätia.
