Blízkosť napájacích sietí striedavého prúdu alebo elektrických trakčných sietí striedavého prúdu (v tejto norme uvádzaných aj ako elektrické siete striedavého prúdu) môže spôsobiť vytváranie napätí v potrubných sieťach (v tejto norme uvádzaných ako rušené siete) vedúcich v ich tesnej blízkosti; napätia sú spôsobené jedným alebo viacerými nasledujúcimi mechanizmami:-induktívnou väzbou,-galvanickou (vodivou) väzbou,-kapacitnou väzbou.
