Táto európska norma špecifikuje požiadavky na rozmery a minimálnu kvalitu (so zreteľom na vizuálne chy-by a na chyby vzoru) vzorovaného skla na použitie v stavebníctve tak, ako sa definuje v EN 572-1: 2012. Táto európska norma sa uplatňuje len na vzorované sklo dodávané v pravouhlých tabuliach a v sklado-vých veľkostiach. V EN 572-8 sa uvádzajú informácie o ďalších veľkostiach vzorovaného skla, ktoré táto európska norma neobsahuje.
