Táto časť ISO 898 stanovuje mechanické a fyzikálne vlastnosti nastavovacích skrutiek a podobných spo-jovacích súčiastok vyrobených z uhlíkovej alebo legovanej ocele skúšaných pri teplote okolia od 10 °C do 35 °C. Spojovacie súčiastky (termín sa používa tam, kde sa berú do úvahy nastavovacie skrutky a podobné spojovacie súčiastky spolu), ktoré vyhovujú požiadavkám tejto časti ISO 898, sa hodnotia v danom rozsahu teploty okolia. Spojovacie súčiastky v zhode s touto časťou ISO 898 sú zatriedené do špecifikovaných tried tvrdosti a sú určené na používanie len tam, kde sú namáhané tlakom.
