Tato cast mezinarodni normy ISO 7884 urcuje metodu stanoveni bodu meknuti skla. Metoda se osvedcila jako kontrolni zkouska citliva na zmeny slozeni, jako vhodna soucast prejimaci kontroly i jako orientacni zkouska pri vyzkumne a vyvojove praci se sklem. Metoda je pouzitelna pro vsechna skla slozenim odpovidajicim hromadne vyrobe, pokud behem pripravy vzorku nebo behem mereni nedojde k odskelneni. Rozsah bodu meknuti se pohybuje podle typu skla mezi 370 az 1000 stupnu Celzia.
