The purpose of this Leaflet is to define the minimum technical requirements in respect of safety installations for high-speed lines, as dictated by the constraints of operating, rolling stock and fixed installations.
The Leaflet also specifies the arrangements to be made in regard to the equipment of the traction units with a view to ensuring compatibility of the signalling systems in international traffic, especially with respect to braking and the speed-control/braking interface, the track/cab-signalling equipment interface and the interface between signalling equipment, recording equipment and driver.
The appendices present in detail:
the operating requirements specification,
the DB, FS and SNCF high-speed signalling systems,
the braking performances demanded of trains needing to run on DB, FS and SNCF high-speed lines,
the on-board parts of the LZB (continuous automatic train-running control), FS and TGV signalling systems.
