Norma je zaměřena především na ochranu betonových a železobetonových konstrukcí. Norma uvádí zkušební metody pro hodnocení vlivu hydrofobní impregnace na koeficient rychlosti sušení impregnovaných zkušebních těles. Podstatou zkoušky je porovnání rychlosti sušení zkušebních těles, opatřených zkoušenou impregnací, s porovnávacími zkušebními tělesy neimpregnovanými. Norma definuje koeficient rychlosti sušení jako poměr obou rychlostí.
