Tato norma specifikuje metodiku pro stanovení isomaltu, laktitolu, maltitolu, mannitolu, sorbitolu a xylitolu v potravinách. Metoda spočívá v extrakci cukrů ze vzorku vodou a následném stanovení metodou kapalinové chromatografie na kationtovém měniči v Ca++ nebo Pb++ cyklu. Detekce je prováděna refraktometricky.
