V této evropské normě jsou uvedeny dvě alternativní metody stanovení obsahu olova v PVC. Metoda A využívá pro stanovení celkového olova v PVC plamenovou atomovou absorpční spektrometrii. Metoda B využívá pro analýzu olova v PVC kvalitativní metodu. Tato metoda používá zkoušku zbarvením sulfidem olovnatým, a je proto nejvhodnější pro materiály světlé barvy nebo přírodní materiály. Lze ji pokládat za bodovou kontrolu přítomnosti olova nebo sloučenin olova
