Tato norma platí pro sestavy poloohebných koaxiálních kabelů pracující v příčně elektromagnetickém vidu (TEM). Vytvoření jednotného provedení a stylu předmětové specifikace je určeno použitím formuláře vzorové předmětové specifikace. Předmětovou specifikaci lze připravit vložením údajů do formuláře národní normalizační organizací, schváleným výrobcem nebo uživatelem (pokud předmětovou specifikaci připravuje uživatel, musí ji národní autorizované instituci předložit schválený výrobce). Tato norma se musí používat spolu s EN 60966 1:1999 a s EN 60966-3:2009.
