Norma je identická s EN 631-1:1993. Jednotlivé části této normy budou vypracovány pod těmito názvy: 1 - Rozměry nádob, 2 - Rozměry příslušenství a podpěr, 3 - Specifikace materiálu, konstrukce a provedení. Tato první část normy stanoví rozměry nádob pro společné stravování s lemem, děrovaných vložek a vík, které jsou založeny na modulu 530 mm x 325 mm. Nádoby na které se vztahuje tato norma jsou určeny pro použití s bezpečnostními podpěrami. Normalizovány jsou v kapitole 3 požadavky. Norma obsahuje tabulku s označením a jmenovitými rozměry. ČSN EN 631-1 (51 1020) byla vydána v únoru 1997. Nahradila spolu s ČSN 631-2 kapitolu 1 a 2 a článek 3.3 a 3.4 ČSN 51 1012 z 18.10.1989
