Norma obsahuje ISO 695:1991. Určuje: a) metodu stanovení odolnosti skla proti vroucímu vodnému roztoku uhličitanu sodného a hydroxidu sodného. Odolnost je měřena nepřímo hmotnostním úbytkem vztaženým na jednotku povrchu skla, b) rozdělení skel do tříd podle odolnosti proti alkáliím na základě stanovení metodou podle této normy. Poznámka: Metoda zkoušení podle této normy může být také použita pro stanovení odolnosti proti alkáliím sklokeramiky. ČSN ISO 695 (70 0533) byla vydána v říjnu 1993. Nahradila ČSN 70 0533 z 8.9.1981
