Norma obsahuje ISO 8119-1:1989. Stanovuje terminologii jazýčkových jehel. Jde o jehly plochého nebo kruhového průřezu s hlavou ve tvaru háčku opatřenou jazýčkem, který je otočně upevněn na čepu. Během tvorby očka jazýček otevírá nebo uzavírá háček působením procházející niti. Odborné termíny jsou uvedeny v češtině, slovenštině a v oficiálních jazycích ISO (angličtině, francouzštině, ruštině). Jsou připojeny i termíny německé, které nelze považovat za oficiální.
