Táto európska norma určuje požiadavky a skúšobné metódy na navrhovanie, výrobu, bezpečnú prevádzku a hospodárne využívanie energie pre štandardné vykurovacie kotly a nízkoteplotné kotly (tu sa kotol myslí ako kotlové teleso) vyrobené z ocele a liatiny vybavené horákmi s ventilátorom, ktoré sa na trh uvádzajú samostatne a ktoré sú v zhode s príslušnou normou na horáky (pri horákoch na plynné palivá s ventilátorom a s automatickým ovládaním pozri EN 676 a pri rozprašovacích horákoch na kvapalné palivá pozri EN 267), ktorých menovitý tepelný výkon je najviac 10 MW.
