Norma platí pro chemický rozbor olovnato-zinkových rud a určuje stanovení stříbra metodou AAS. Při provádění rozboru musí být dodržena všechna ustanovení podle ČSN 44 1701. Podstata metody: Po rozkladu vzorku kyselinami se změří atomová absorpce stříbra při vlnové délce 328,1 nm v plameni vzduch - acetylen. Postup při provádění normalizované zkoušky je podrobně popsán. ČSN 44 1631 byla schválena 18.5.1989 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.6.1990. Nahradila část 12 ČSN 44 1654 z 29.11.1973 a spolu s ČSN 44 1701, ČSN 44 1621 až ČSN 44 1630 a ČSN 44 1632 ji nahradila v celém rozsahu
