Touto normou se zavádí ST SEV 5211-85 jako ČSN, jíž se pro potřeby ČSSR ČSFR resp. ČR norma nedoplňovala. Norma RVHP stanoví metody průkazu botulinických toxinů všech typů, vegetativních buněk a spór toxinogeních kmenů C. botulinum v potravinářských výrobcích a metody určení titru botulinických toxinů, sérologické typizace a izolace kultur toxinogenních kmenů C. botulinum typů A, B, C, D, E, F, a G. Norma se vztahuje k zjišťování některých kvalitativních znaků (jakosti) významných pro hygienu výživy. ČSN 56 0090 byla schválena 2.2.1987 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.10.1987
