Tato část normy platí spolu s ČSN 70 0600 pro stanovení oxidu barnatého vážkovou metodou v těch typech skel, u nichž je její použití předepsáno v normě pro rozbor příslušného typu skla. Principem metody je srážení barnatých iontů kyselinou sírovou na nerozpustný síran barnatý, který se odfiltruje, promyje, vyžíhá a zváží.
