Tato norma popisuje zkušební metodu na měření lineárního koeficientu teplotní roztažnosti (CLTE) volně umístěných pevných (kovových, keramických, polymerních aj.) materiálů pro mikroelektromechanické systémy (MEMS) délek mezi 0,1 mm až 1 mm a šířek mezi 10 _m až 1 mm s tloušťkami od 0,1 _m do 1 mm. Jedná se o hlavní konstrukční materiály, které se používají pro MEMS, mikrostroje a další. Tato zkušební metoda se dá použít pro měření CLTE v teplotním rozsahu od pokojové teploty do 30 % teploty tavení materiálu
