Tato norma určuje metodu identifikace a stanovení organocíničitých sloučenin a/nebo kationtů, a to v pitných, povrchových a odpadních vodách, které neobsahují více než 2 g/l nerozpuštěných látek. Pracovní rozsah je od 10 ng/l do 1 000 ng/l. Příslušné anionty se nestanoví.
Tuto metodu lze použít také ke stanovení dalších sloučenin obsahujících R = methyl, n = 1 až 2, a R = fenyl, n = 1 až 2. Tato norma je použitelná také pro mořskou vodu.
