Tato norma specifikuje požadavky na celý kmín tmavý a světlý (Carum carvi Linnaeus*)), který vytváří plody každé dva roky resp. každý rok. Norma neplatí pro Carum bulbocastanum. Je-li pro potřeby této normy použit pouze termín "kmín celý", znamená to, že se požadavky vztahují bez rozdílu na oba popsané typy. Doporučení týkající se podmínek skladování a přepravy jsou uvedena v příloze A. *) NÁRODNÍ POZNÁMKA - Český název "Kmín kořenný".
