Norma je českou verzí mezinárodní normy ISO 2169:1981. Mezinárodní norma ISO 2169:1981 má status české technické normy. Tato mezinárodní norma stanovuje definice fyzikálních ukazatelů, které jsou obvykle používány při průmyslovém skladování ovoce a zeleniny v chladírnách (teplota, relativní vlhkost, cirkulace vzduchu, rychlost výměny vzduchu atd.) a poskytuje potřebné informace o jejich měření. Výsledkem úvah pro teploty používané pro výrobky musí být: - buď letální teplota a bezpečné rozmezí, - nebo kritická teplota a bezpečné rozmezí. Norma obsahuje tyto kapitoly: kapitolu 1 - Předmět normy, kapitolu 2 - Teplota, kapitolu 3 - Relativní vlhkost a kapitolu 4 - Proudění vzduchu. ČSN ISO 2169 (46 3002) byla vydána v srpnu 1999
